G35 Brake Warranty

I think I need new pads at 22k miles. Car is 2 years old. Will this be covered under warranty? Thanks.

Suggest you ask dealer. Some are (5AT), 03 and 04. No 6MT`s are, IIRC.
Might want to try Search. This topic has been beat to death!

all 03 and 04 non-brembo's are covered until 30k, and my dealer said my 05X brakes would be too since they are not the updated brakes as on the RWD 05's.

That's 36 months, 36k miles, And if he got 22 out of his, he's doing good.

Worn brake pads are not covered under warranty plain and simple. They are considered a "wear" item. If it is normal wear (22,000 miles is normal wear) than you are responsible. The only way they would be covered is if there is some sort of manufacturers defect, driving and using the brakes is not a defect.

It helps to know all your facts before you speak so confidently. You are correct that wear and tear items are not normally covered, but there was a special 36/36warranty coverage added to 2003-2004 non-brembo cars just like the poster said above. Many of us have taken advantage of this.

Sorry, I did not know that, there must have been a problem with them if they added a warranty like that.

I have only had my G since Dec. And I hadn't heard of any earlier brake problems.

There was a technical bulletin added for at least the 03 due to premature brake wear on the rotors and pads. The dealer replaced both my rotors and pads for free under warranty when the car had 22K miles. Check with your local service manager as I did and hopefully you'll get good news.

I see, I hadn't heard of that, mine is an 05. Normally the pads would not be warrantied for normal wear.

The '05 brakes are so much nicer, not only wear wise, there's almost no dust, and no grabby brakes, it's so nice to still have clean wheels after a week of driving, well, other than road dirt of course. I can see why you wouldn't know about the previous brake issue Destro.
