5/16 MD Plenum Spacer Installed!

Then install is fairly straight forward and the directions are very helpful. I was some what confused on whether to leave the guide pins in or take them out completely. That was easily cleared up with a call to Tony. They come out! Replaced with provided bolts. ECU reset was completed, although I got different flashing sequences of the CEL. Directions state the light will flash rapidly first then will flash slowly to indicate a reset. Mine flashed the opposite, so I assume it was a typo. After getting everything installed and resetting the ECU, I fired her up. Maybe a slight difference in sound at idle coming from the plenum. Didn't really notice much difference at wide open throttle, mainly due to the Pop Charger screaming sweet nothings in my ear. The car seemed more responsive and had more pull, especially in 2nd gear. She chirped all 3 gears and damn near got 4th during a test drive. I also got the opportunity to spank this NA z32 with ungodly exhaust from a dig during this said test drive (BUS LENGTHS), but that was just an added bonus. The car seems to have gotten that little bit of low end power lost with the Pop Charger. I was going to reinstall the oem airbox w/k&n, but the spacer compliments the pop charger. This is well designed product and you get very good customer service to boot. You can't ask for more out of any product you buy. Just one reminder, make sure you use a inch/lb torque wrench. Most have no clue how little torque is involved with 30-60-90in/lbs. You use a normal 3/8 ratchet and you will be sure to strip a bolt. If you don't have access or can't afford one, use the screwer driver/socket setup. Most can't torque more than 90in/lbs. I hope this post clears up any doubts about the spacer.

Sounds great. I just got mine in the mail yesterday. Hopefully I won't have to work again this weekend so I can do the install.

did you torque them 90in/lbs or 110 as they say in their manual?

The instructions I received with the spacer indicate to torque all bolts to 30in lbs, then torque all to 60in/lbs and lastly torque bolts 7-18 to 90in/lbs.

How do you do reset the ECU? Just by unhooking the battery cable like on most cars? Do you have to put in a radio code again? Thanks for the help, I am going to be buying a 1/2 inch next month. This will be a little heads up.
