hesitant acceleration on my G

hesitant acceleration on my G
I had my G35 Sedan for more than 5 months now and I just noticed that when I pretty much close to floor it my sedan won't change gear. The engine would just roar for like maybe 3-4 seconds before I have to let go of the gas... Usually this happens when I want a quick aceleration whether it be at a stop light or just to pass someone. I would rev it to almost 4000-4500 and it just roars from there. Is this due to the ECU?

Bro, an ECU reset is easy to do. Here's a link to a couple.

Re: hesitant acceleration on my G
1) Turn ignition on, wait 3 seconds
2) Push fully and release the gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds
3) Wait 7 secs, fully push gas pedal and hold for 10 seconds until the CES light starts to blink
4) Release gas pedal (you are in diagnostic test mode 2)
5) Press and hold gas pedal for more than 10 seconds. Release pedal.
so in step 3 you are flooring the car while the engine is on? You are in park? I dont understand this step

nismo4090,
NO! Don't turn the ignition on. Turn the key such that the dash lights
are on, don't start the motor. Our G35 have what is called "drive by wire" throttles. That means when you depress the gas pedal, you are
actually instructing the computer to increase gas, not causing a
a wire to pull the throttle open. Please correct me if I'm mistaken!
So in effect all the gas pedal movements are sending signals to
the ECU to reset, not causing gas to fow into the engine.

Re: hesitant acceleration on my G
If you can't get the easy ECU reset method to work,
a 12 hour battery disconnect(negative terminal only)
is a sure fire way to reset the ECU. The G35 really
becomes peppy when the ECU is reset. It is VERY noticable!

Re: hesitant acceleration on my G
If you don't notice any difference in your performance,
it probably didn't work. I do believe that we determined
that the easy ECU reset method did indeed work. The
12 hour battery disconnect works for sure. Every time
I have done the easy reset, I have noticed a crisper shifting
on my Auto.

Re: hesitant acceleration on my G
Way to go Darkass! I did it last week when I got my Stillen HFAB
and it took me many tries. I had been able to do it pretty good
prior to last week, but I guess I had "unlearned" it. Has your hesitation
disappeard?
