Fuel Economy

I just took my car in few days ago and I installed my Z intake duct after that. I am now noticing that my fuel economy seems to drop in a pretty significant figure. Maybe its because its hot outside and I am using AC but that doesnt seem to be reaosonable to me. Any ideas?

Re: Fuel Economy

Yo,

I got the same issue but I realized it's definitely the A/C causing the fuel to get sucked. We had 2 weeks of 90 degrees plus in Chicago area a few weeks ago and I ran the A/C constantly. I got about 15.34 MPG average! I filed up last night and drove about 100 miles today and only sucked a 1/4 tank and I had no A/C running! I think the draw from the A/C on the engine is significant enough to get the MPG's down to 15 ish. Without it on, I get about 17+ city driving!

Re: Fuel Economy

Could you be stepping on it a little more than usual to test your mod?

Take care

Re: Fuel Economy

Yeah, I've noticed I can swing between 14 and 18 mpg just by changing the amount of lead in my right foot.

Re: Fuel Economy

I feel that since I put the 350Z duct on, followed by the Stillen
Hi-Flow Air Box, I don't care to listen to the radio or CD player.
My foot is always playing with my new musical instruments.
That is what is causing your fuel economy to suffer!
