What did Infiniti do to the 2003.5 model?

I might be missing something, but here's what I've come up with:

* Trunk cosmetic change (wider INFINITI lettering, no box), removed external trunk latch, added internal trunk release.
* Added extra power outlet on passenger side of center console.
* Fixed various problems with the original cars (A/C noise, touchy brakes - still touchy, but not as bad, etc.)
* Dropped Twilight Blue color choice, added Carribean Blue.
* Made Xenon's standard (and adjusted the MSRP to reflect this).

 

That pretty much covers it but I think the .5s are experiencing some of the same issues as the 2003s.

Embroidered "Infiniti" seats instead of pressed, chrome besels around center console, small shifter update.

 

oh yeah.. i like the seats

..pestilence..

 

Oh.. and the 2003.5 has a full-width cargo net, instead of the half-width of the 2003.

Moved the memory seat controls from driver's side door to side of seat. I couldn't find it for about five minutes, as I'd only seen a 2003 but received a 2003.5... thought they'd neglected to give me the feature.

Didn't realize they were on the door for the originals. That's too bad.. on the door is a better place for them. (Though, I imagine on the seat is cheaper to build.)

The placement was somewhat awkward... kind of where one would expect the mirror controls. Once you get the feel I suppose it's not bad, but I agree-- on the door is a little easier to find.

I also believe the 2003.5 models get tighter steering from thicker sway bars.

they have a few unlisted bonus' as well but I cant remember.

 

The action of the shifter in "manumatic" (I use that term lightly) mode is much shorter and has a more positive click. The resistance/spring on the .5's is much more consistent also. (the 03's have a soft, then hard, then soft feel before you reach the end of the gate.) The shifter on the 03's has a much longer travel and you don't have to push it up or down all the way to get the next gear.

 

Wait, the 2003.5 drivers seat controls are on the seat, or on the door? I have a 2003 and my controls are on the seat.

 

I was just thinking about this the other day-- I test drove probably a dozen cars when I was looking for the G, and I may have seen one w/ seat controls on the door and somehow placed it in the G in my mind. I just recall that being my first reaction when I got in the car... "hmm... where'd they go? They were right here." I could just being going dumb! [img]/w3timages/icons/crazy.gif[/img]
