Fine dust / burning smell

I've noticed that ever since I got my G back from the bodyshop (front end damage), when I park it in tha garage at night, I see what looks like a fine mist circulating in the beams of the lights. I also smell a strong "brake/burning" smell. I'm not sure if I'm being hyper-sensitive, but does anyone know what exactly this could be from? I'm not driving it hard, and I've tried to be easy on the brakes to see what happens, but I'm still getting this mist and smell. I ran a flashlight around the car to see if I could find out where the particles were coming from by catching them in the beam, and I think it might be from under the hood... I didn't see a concentration by the wheel wells. Any ideas?

Re: Fine dust / burning smell

It could be some liquids that were spilled on the engine burning off. I changed my wiper fluid last week and spilled a little bit on the engine area, have head a stinky smell from the car ever since. It usually takes a couple weeks to burn off and the smell/steam will go away. It might be worth getting checked out by the dealer though, would suck to be something more serious and cause a bigger issue by not having it looked at.

Just to be safe, check all the fluids frequently and also check to see if any of the brakes are HOT after a (calm) drive. Might the shop somehow left the parking brake partially on. The back wheels will be cooler than the front

Re: Fine dust / burning smell

That was my initial thought. It smelled faintly of burning brakes (Um.. not like I know what that smells like), but the mist seemed to be more in the area of the engine bay. I don't know of anything that's left a physical residue (belt, etc.) when it's wearing, but who knows?

The collision center replaced a whole lot of the internals because it ended up resting on a rock, which tore up a bit of the underside. So far, I can't even tell it's been in an altercation with a rock, but this is the only evidence. I'll call Harvey's (collision center) and see if they replaced aly fluids. Thanks man,
