Doors not locking automatically if left unlocked?

Well today after work, I went to get inside my car and realized that all my doors were unlocked. I thought this was unusual because I've read on the forums that the car has an auto-lock feature that enables if the doors are unlocked for more than 40+ seconds. I just got done unlocking my car and stepping away for a few minutes and the door still didn't lock on its own. Does someone have a clue how I can get this fixed so that it locks itself after a period of time??

it only auto locks if you use the remote to unlock the door and then do not open the door. If you open the door it won't auto lock.

I just tried it using the key FOB and didn't touch the doors and it locked itself after 45 seconds, so I guess that part works.

But I thought that the car is supposed to lock if it remains unlocked regardless of how the doors were unlocked either through the key FOB or through the manual unlock button on the doors.

No, that's working fine. The '05 is different from my '04, it I used the fob to unlock the door to open the fuel door, when I went back to the car, it was locked regardless of whether it was locked or not, on the '05, the door will not lock if it's already unlocked like the '04 did. If I unlock wih the Intelligent button on the door, it will relock, if it wasn't already open, after so many seconds pass

Well this is a good feature if you look at it differently. Say you forget your key in your G...the doors will not lock themselves after 45 seconds. If they did you'll be spending some bucks to get in your G again.

Say you open your G doors with the FOB but you forget something (home, store, etc)... The G will lock itself as long as you don't open the door.

Sometimes you accidently hit the buttons on your FOB while its in your pocket or twirling the key around in your hand. The G will lock them up after 45.
