Redline bursts..

Sometimes I look for a little more power to pass and all of a sudden the car downshifts and hits the redline for a short burst. My question is, Is this bad for the engine? I've already done an ECU reset and its a little better, but the bursts sometimes surprises me and I let off the gas. BTW, 5 Speed Auto Sedan. Thanks.

AngelC,

My auto transmission became much more liveable after I installed Gordgee's 7-wire Hyper-Ground Kit. It's quit doing things like you described. (Look at the surprise on my face!)

Re: Redline bursts..

I already have the 5 wire kit. And I believe the ride is overall smoother, but I think it was because I grannied the car too much for the break in. I've done an ECU rest and the car seems much better now. I guess I just had to make it forget its old ways.
