Gas Mileage???

Hi...

I was wondering what I can do to improve my gas mileage?
Perhaps put in an intake?

The best thing you can do is drive like you have a raw egg between your foot and the gas pedal. Really! Also, switch to synthetic oil, keep your tires inflated properly, and make sure your air cleaner element is clean.

If you can stand it, on the highway, drive a few mph (5) slower than the posted speed limit. That alone will make a 2 to 3 mpg improvement.

now, dont take our word for it, because for some people, the ECU adjusts for the modifications and does not improve. Mine improved.

1) Z Tube
2) Keep Tires properly inflated..or 2 - 5 PSI above
3) K&N Air Filter (or complete aftermarket CAI)
4) Synthetic Engine Oil and Tranny Oil
5) Keep AC/Defroster off
6) TechnoSquare ECU ReFlash
7) Weight reduction
- Remove Spare Tire and Tools (replace with that liquid tire fix can thing)
- Remove all non essential paraphenalia
- Remove engine Cover and Battery cover
- Buy Lighter Battery
- Buy Lighter Wheels and Tires
- Carbon fiber drive shaft
- After Market Exhaust (Muffler, Premuffler)

oy
I have a G35x, with Synth Oil, Intake Z tube and those weight reduction (except battery)
I get 19 mpg in the City with the "Egg" method. I dont like using the "Egg" method, so I get around 16 or 17 depending on season. The "Egg" method will always be the most effective.

EDIT: added a few things + removed pulleys due to controversy

I also forgot to say, turn of the AC. That will get you 1-2 extra

Just drove through 2 states today before filling up. Just over 25mpg (27.0 according to the navi). Averaged about 73mph, with some tailwind.

I use to drive a '03 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Quad Cab. That sucking sound I always heard was $$$ from my wallet into the gas tank!

Now that you know what I use to drive, you know now that I love the gas mileage I'm getting with my G. I do tend to coast into stop lights and four way stop in order to save gas and my brakes. Coasting into stops help save my '00 Chrysler 300M (that I still own) it's brakes. I still have the factory brakes with 70K on it (but my wife is easier on the M than I am *_O). This will be the first summer with my G, so I will need to run the A/C here and that will make a big difference on mileage in street driving. Triple A states that turning your A/C off on the freeway saves very, very little gas, so run your A/C and be comfortable.

BTW, I always run Mobile 1 in my cars. I am not sure if it saves gas, but it's the best oil going and my G & M love it.

I just switched out of castrol syntec b/c it seemed to get dark very quickly. Some oil just changes colors like that. Mobil One + Mobil Filter = fine (mobil filter is black anyways so :-D) I think syntec is cheaper
