Correct. She has an 04. I'm not disagreeing with anyone's impressions here. I'm just countering Dave's statement that the revup breathes better beyond 70. Actually, I always used to think the same way, until I started comparing our 1/4 mile timeslips. It really surprised me when I realized she was actually out gaining me beyond 75mph or so, however slightly.

After driving 3 5AT loaners in the past year, I would agree that they have a stronger mid-range feel than my 05 6MT, but mine definitely feels stronger above 5K. The loaners were noticeably smoother than my 6MT above 5K also. The difference was enough that I wished I could have a 6MT with the stronger mid-range and smoother rev of the 5AT motor. But I spent 17 years in a Mustang, so torque is my friend.

Trey, your time slips are telling, though. Very interesting.

Funny thing since I just had my 03.5 5AT sedan in for oil change and the fuel hose recall. The 05 loaner they gave me was a pig. I guess my N/A mods did some good after all. If you want to appreciate your mods, drive a loaner sedan.

Yes, but he has the MT and the X has the same drive ratio in the differential as the manual equiped G35s.

Yeah, it surprised me how slow the 05 was because I read on here sometimes how coupe guys are impressed with the loaner sedans. Also, since it is supposed to be 280HP vs. my 260. More evidence that the 03's were seriously underrated to begin with.
