Track wheels

Performance Nissan is getting me a set of Enkei rpf1's for the track. I was thinking of 17x8.5 in 30 and 17x9.5 in 40. I thought this was a bit off due to the recommendations from fellow forum members. However, the guys there swear they will be perfect. ANy thoughts? I'm planning to keep my 245 for the front and purchase new 275's for the rear. V710's for both the front and rear.

both are on the verge of rubbing the outside fender; but it also depends on what profile of tire you are running

hmm;
To me, anything strong and light (but keep it simple, either simple spokes or multiple spokes... dun use multiple pcs rims) are good options for track wheels. For example, rays, 5zigen, etc..

I think Enkeis are one of the most popular track rims because of its weight and structural integrity =)

Ok. Thanks. I keep searching for the correct offset:
17x8.5 with 35/38 offset and 17x9.5 with 45 offset.

Also ordered the RPF1 18" staggered with those offsets...they gotta ship it from japan so its gonna take 4-5 weeks

So if I buy 19x8.5 35-38 offset for the front & 19x9.5 45 offset for the rear, would that work on my x?

Thanks,

-Jimbo

I would NOT suggest any staggered setup on the X, coz you might be throwing your AWD system off; unless if you plan to disable it

for the correct offset, I think a +38 is better for 8.5" width rim
and +45 should work for 9.5" width rim

My problem is finding the right offset. I can't find 17" wheels in 8.5" and 9.5" widths with 38 and 45 offsets (respectively) that are light like the Enkei's.

Enkei's website does not offer the correct size (the above). This damn car gets me more and more aggrevated each time I search for something.

Personally, I am currently running RPM2 18x8 all around, I am indeed very happy with the setup. Mind you that I actually tried 18x8 in the front and 18x9 at the back; but didn't like the feeling..that's why I went back with 18x8.

However in your case, I would try 18x8.5 with 40 offset and give it some beef (like 245 or more)..However, if you want sth staggered for the sedan; it seems that the RPF1 and RPO3 won't work..since the 9.5" width rim with +38 might be sticking out a bit too much; unless if you wanna go for some very narrow tire (but then it will look very stretched..) to avoid rubbing the outer fender

In my opinion, try 18x8 or 18x8.5 all around if that's okay with you; coz IMO a staggered setup will re-introduce the under steer that the G arealdy has.

FYI: there are many tuners out there that claim that the true setup of a track car should NOT run staggered; and they tested their theories with a 350Z with 18x9 on 265/275 all around and that thing HAULS!!..it pulled very good skipad G.

you can custom order your offset. it just takes longer to get. they also dont have 18x8.5 +38 and 18x9.5 +45 on their website but i got it
