Burnt Clutch?
I haven't driven my 05 sedan 6mt for a few days until today I took it out to get lunch. As I launched from 1st gear at about 3k rpm, my tires were not spinning and my slip light did not come on. However, my tach raced to 6k. There was a real bad burnt smell that came out of the engine.
I pulled it back into the driveway and let the smell clear. It seemed fine so I drove it to get lunch. Did I just burn my clutch? Is that possible? Do I need to replace it now or is it under warranty?

Yes, you burned your clutch. No, you don't need to replace it unless your car isn't driving as it should.
Common problem with this manual drive train. A good search and some pick-through reading will reveal dozens of threads talking about exactly this kind of thing.
