I considering purchasing a new g35 (2005) and I have a question on the odometer.

Right aligned is the mileage count...It's 267.
Below this number, centered, is the number 6400.
This is in a picture I am looking at.

What is the 6400? Is this the odometer, or is it the 267?

How can you have 267 as your odometer reading and have 6400 as your mileage counter? Make sense?

6400 is your odometer.

 

on my 04 the odometer is on top of the trip meter... maybe they switched it for the 05's...

The bottom is the trip odometer. If you tap the little odometer stalk, you can see what the "b" trip meter is. Is it likewise a big number?

Is this a dealer car? Private Party? I don't know how odometer tampering works on electronic odometers like this, but I can see why you might think something's up.

 

looks to me like 267 is the miles (top)
and 6400 is what the rev shift light is set at....(if u have a revup motor) (bottom#)

press the button and you will see Trip A and milage and Trip B with milage but the 3rd press i believe is the shift light setting thing.

 

dream g35 - the rpm thing is what i was thinking, its on a 6MT 2005 Sedan...Can anyone else confirm this?

mhollinger - It's from a authorized Infiniti dealer, the company checks out it looks like.

Carfax shows no registered owners, haven't had a chance to go in and look at it.

 

Ah, I forget that's an option those of you with the manual transmission have. That's probably it.
