I had a deal fall through on a set of 17" SSR comps, but I'm starting again to look for some lightweight autox/track wheels...

Haven't even driven the car yet. I am sure I will notice some improvement. Been cleaning house all day.

very light for 18s indeed.......your accel, decel will improve......look at all the unsprung weight and rotational mass you've just eliminated.....i went from stock coupe 18s to Z track wheels and felt an immediate improvement as soon as i left the shop.....easier on the brakes too......

yep, an one inch drop will do you wonders too.......

Actually you might want to read this. It got the top best performing tire from C&D! So I am not sure where you got the not so best performing tire from. Yea if you go by numbers. But overall it is the best performing tire in all conditions from wet/dry to feel/comfort to noise and treadwear.

LOL you got light wheels with the heaviest tires ever!!!! Those weigh 29lbs EACH. What is the point of getting lightweight wheels when you just bought 29lbs tires. And let me tell you I had those exact same tires for 15k miles on my sedan in the same size and the larger then stock OD made the handling so jittery and it did not handle good bottom line. I now have the conticontactsport 2s that are 23lbs each. Much better handling then when I had the good years. Im running 245/40 now vs 245/45 and the fact that they are 6lbs lighter each.

I said this in my topic that I had to make a compromise between performance and weight. The wheels saved me weight but I wanted a good high performance tire. These have high reviews and so far 75 miles I have driven on them the car has completely changed to being much smoother, more responsive.

I roadrace and needed a tire that would work good for daily and roadrace. The Conti Sport is a good tire but nothing in comparison to the tire I have now in performance. I have owned those tires before.

I have also owned both tires. You should try 245/40 next time. Anyway... enjoy your new setup it does look nice.

Not really feeling the wheels or the valve stems. IMO, the stockers look far better. The tires are it though. Even though they might be a bit heavy, they're about the best you can get. I'm sure the wheels will look a bit better once you lower it and get a little tire shine on the new rubber.

front 18x8(18.1lbs) offset 30
rear 18x8.5(18.6lbs) offset 33
not bad for 18s still......
they bolted right up, didn't have to mess with longer studs...
