87 or 93 octane
I was under the impression that the G35S needed to use 93 octane, and that is what I have been using. But I noticed in the owners manual that the sedan can use 87 octance.
What have you been using in your sedans?
If you have tried both 87 and 93 octane do you notice much of a difference?
Is there any reason other then performance to use 93 octance?

Re: 87 or 93 octane
Only the best in my opinion. I put in 87 once, a couple times in a row while I was out of town. My check engine light came on and didnt go back off until I was about halfway through a tank of good old 93.

Re: 87 or 93 octane
we get only as high as 91 at the pumps (expect for Gurgen's 101 shell)
yYou can run the lower octane, and you can also eat at McDonald's everyday. You'll be full, but you won't be as happy after a few tanks.
Look inside your gas cap, mine has a warning that you can use lower octane, but it recommends higher octane for performance.

SolarGard Quant. Tint 19% r, 28% fr, & just a tad more than 4" of 50% on the windshield

Re: 87 or 93 octane
If the manufacturer says 87 then it shouldn't be a problem. I'll admit to using mostly premium however. Now if only this puppy would do better than 14 mpg city. I haven't found any difference using regular versus premium. BTW it's the Coupe that requires premium.

Re: 87 or 93 octane
I have found that I get about 10% better mileage and the car runs cooler on 91 Octane. I put three tanks of 87 octane in a row and it was not happy. I don't drive that fast, but do enjoy a good run up the on ramp as much as the next G. The car just seems to run better on the higher octane gas.

Re: 87 or 93 octane
I compared 87 vs 91 each for about a month. I noticed a slight decrease in performance but no difference in gas mileage. Since I am commuting in traffic most days, I really don't get a chance to "have fun" with my car. For that reason, I use 87. You have to try it yourself and compare. Many different opinions on this topic....
