I work for Infiniti and I go to all of the Regional meeting. I don't know where you heard about this "G35 wagon", but that's news to me. However, they are going to be coming out with a midsize SUV along the lines of a Lexus RX330 that'll be aimed at female 30-something-year-olds that don't want to drive a mammoth piece of **** like the QX56...

Interesting and simpler would be something based on the 4.0 liter VQ out of the trucks, or simply an s/c version of the existing 6. They could reach any h/p goals without messing up the geometry of the car. Imagine a blown 4.0. 360-370hp and full warranty. They could bring that for less than an extra 10k. A bit rich for some folks but 10k less than the last M3 so it would sell

just curious, but how is this new midsize SUV gonna be different from the FX35?

that's what i was wondering. or do they consider fx to be a small suv, not midsize?

i don't know why you guys are complaining about the bigger size engine. i have a blown 04g35x with a 3 year warranty. the car is close to 400hp. i wouldn't want to pay extra $10k for something that i can pay half that price.

I did see a M45 at the dealer some time back. It is sweet. It is more matured than g35 and of coarse the age group will also be different. But then when the age group increases, so does their spendability and affordability.

Car and Driver did give the M45 no 1 spot in one of these comparisons

Car and Driver - May 2005
The $55,000 question
Who's the next top dog in the sports-luxury class?

8th - Jagua S-Type 4.2 VDP
7th - Cadillac STS V-8
6th - BMW 530i
5th - Audi A6 4.2 Quattro
4th - Mercedes E350
3rd - Lexus GS430
2nd - Acura RL
and (drum rolls...)
1st - Infinit M45 Sport

if I could afford, I would not mind a M45....right now I am stuck and very happy with my G35.

at least two years ago there was a g35 wagon at an auto show. i figured a person who works for infiniti would know that. i don't mean to come off as rude, but i find it frustrating when the regular enthusiast has more knowledge of the company than the employee who works for them. the wagon was introduced at the same time the g35x came out. the specs on the wagon match the volvo, it's targeted competition, including the raised suspension, and optional awd. it looked pretty nice with the led tails. kind of like the volvo but with a g35 front end. very roomy back compartment. infiniti employees should do their homework.

edit to the wagon post - it's been a couple of years since i've seen the wagon, it might have been standard awd.

Oh man that's great. I'm guilty.

With respect to the G35 wagon, heck they already make it, albeit with a different front end (i.e. Stagea)
That would be a sweet family hauler for the US market if they ever did decide import it.

Might make sense, I did read in a recent mag about the 350z wagon coming out in japan...(although not sure if it was a concept car or not). Perhaps a crossover to Infiniti?

yeah that looks a lot like the wagon i saw. but the one i saw did indeed have a g35 sedan front end. ssshhhh, don't tell the infiniti employees. they might get wind of what nissan is really doing.

*disclaimer*
i apologize to any infiniti employee who really does have their finger on the pulse of their company.
