Yeah, those don't look like the "sport" type. Are they unique to the X?

They are 17" with the regular tires, the X's ride height makes them seem a little smaller. 18"s would look good, I agree, but I think the performance or the 17"s will suite me well. I might autox a little and especially with the AWD system I dont want to change the gear ratios invovled in the drive train. (i know its not that big of a deal, but still.. i trust infiniti engineers)

The 17" split five spoke chrome rims are the option that is available on all G35 Sedans. Like I mentioned in the original post DDRGirle also has them. (see https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/62710-anyone-have-standard-17-chrome-wheels-2005-a.html for her pics). They look even better in person than in those pics. They shine like crazy!

Thanks for the comments/feedback everyone!

There are very few cars that are lowered much around here. Most of the modded cars are not very nice around Ames, Iowa (Iowa State University students mostly). Now in west des moines there are some nice cars rolling around but very few are modded or lowered. So given my area and the population of cars, not being lowered doesnt detract at all from its comparison level. And as I said, I want to be able to plow through a foot or two of snow without issue or take some of the nasty roads or steep driveways that do exist in Iowa.
I'm aware that the x's sit higher. I'm sorry about my comment, I really wasn't dissing the car. In the south, at least down here, you don't see any x's. I've never seen an x in person, though I've seen plenty of pictures on here. The stock wheel gap just surprised me.

congrats--but I would never buy a new car when the replacement model is 6 months away. I know you got a good deal and you prefer the current model..blah blah...BUT--I would have waited.

How have you never seen an X? Have you never been to a INFINITI dealership? Maybe you bought your G on ebay?

I thought about the samething, but I think the best time to get a new car is the last year for that model because most of the problems are already worked on and improvements made. Thats's what kept me from waiting for the next G or getting the IS350. So getting the new 07 is just opening the doors for problems. Think of the 03-04 G35 versus the 05-06 G35.

the displacement may be the same, but there is over 40+ hp difference(from the 03), and major styling changes such as the interior and the front end.

The point is, I would go with the new model.

+^^

Those rims really take away from the look, IMO. Maybe it's the white, maybe the rims, but the car looks "less expensive" (cheaper) than most G sedans. Sorry.

^+1 You know...you're right. I agree w/ you on those rims....and I bet for the additional $ that was spent on them, he could get a nice aftermarket setup.

Konsole - Otherwise, car looks great! BTW - how much did you end up dropping on your car? That's a lot of options and I'm guessing high $30's.....

I didnt see the 07 before I ordered but I dont regret that. I like the 06 design more. I also wanted to get an 06 because they have fixed most of the issues with this design. First year cars generally have a few more problems. I dont care that the 07 has a little more power. This 06 has more power than any car I have owned before and its plenty. I dont plan on modding the engine or drag racing it.

After all was said an done I spent about 40.

I think the rims are fricken sweet. The pictures dont do them justice really. Feel free to bash on my car. I absolutly love my G and since my taste differs greatly from what I usually read on this forum its all good. Im 25, so its not just old man taste. I dont see how 6 spoke wheels that are painted grey/silver look better than 5 split spoke chromes that have lots of spaces to see the brakes through. It makes the whole car brigher and goes well with the door handle and window molding chrome.

I am glad everyone has his/her own style and taste. To each his own right?
