Can some1 take a pic of where the pop charger heat shield meets the stock air scoop?
Can some1 take a pic of where the pop charger heat shield meets the stock air scoop?
I am talking about the part where the OEM scoop connects to the heatshield with the edge trim foam piece. When I look at mine there are little spaces where the trim meets just want to make sure it's normal.

Check it out. The pieces of rubber that attach to the end of the stock air scoop and the heat shield are kinda crappy.

hey man i appreciate that. You and I are in the same boat. I bought the Polished Aluminum z-tube (but its smooth inside).
Both of our tubes have no mounting bracket built onto the tube where as the stock z tube has a bracket somewhere along the tube itself. This becomes a problem because our tubes put more pressure on the A/C line.
You need to protect your A/C line from damage. It is that thin curvey aluminum line that runs right by the MAF assembly. I took 1/2 inch foam tape for windows and put one 2 inch piece on the hose clamp furthest from the z tube and another identical piece on the aluminum a/c line right next to the aforementioned piece of foam.
I hope you have some idea what I am talking about.
And btw those pictures were helpful that is pretty much how my rubber trim lines up also.

Yeah. I'm very aware of that issue. I check it all the time to see if it's rubbing at all. The thing that I like about the double curve G tube is that it actually does provide clearance in such a way that it doesn't rub the a/c line unlike the straight Z tube that puts the intake at an angle such that it runs into the line.
Even though it looks really close, it doesn't rub. I've even shaked the intake back and forth to see and it never hits it, although I guess I should cover it up just to be doubly sure.
