Re: chirping tires
Don't know about "better", but I love the sound when I chirp from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd(abouv 6k only) with my 04' 6MT. I just love that sound. I also love buying new tires, lol

Re: chirping tires
ummm like he said it sounds cool but its not better. I would say its probaly worse becuase any loss of traction mean loss of power but ur talking such a small amount it would'nt make any difference. but it sounds cool. if u want it to happen more often buy some super cheap tires and ones that are really narrow in the back like put wheels off a geo metro on the G and man u could get it to chrip going into 5th

Re: chirping tires
Chirping 1st -2nd means one of two things (or both)
1. Your car is putting down a lot of torque
2. Your stock tires are getting worn out

Considering the fact that you have an automatic is pretty suprising. It is harder for auto's to chirp 1st - 2nd. My I30 never does it.

Re: chirping tires
Yeah it sounds pretty neat doing it, but otherwise worthless IMO. My i35 has done it on occassion.
