Is there a TSB on this? Isn't this a known issue with the sedan and coupe? Buddies car is JUST out of warranty and now the dealer tells him it's needed.
Any help would be appreciated.

No TSB that I'm aware of. Brakes on the pre-2005s are a very well known and well documented issue. From all the things I've read here, 38K is actually above average.
Warranty covereage was extended through 3/36. Sounds like he's on his own.

my dealer was too lazy to surface them, they replaced mine at like 20k KMS
lol
so yah, 38k miles seem fine to me..unless you only drive your car thru highway miles..o/w it is all good, yet, you are out of the brake warranty at 36k miles...

Brake wear on the 03 and 04 G's is a known issue and that's why the 36K mile warranty includes the brakes and rotors. If your friend's car has gone 38K without needing the pads and rotors replaced then they are damn lucky. Buy some good aftermarket ones that won't wear so much and be done with it.

I don't have a problem with either of you I think it is really sweet when ugly people find love with eachother and just settle.

Btw, the TSB use to be available. I had one printed for the dealer at one time 2 years ago. But now they actually have a warranty 3/36k on the brakes they decided to remove it so it seems.
