So I was a little puzzled by this question seeing as the TSX is essentially a RSX with 4 doors, and not really a fair comparasion to the G35 whos true Acura competition is the TL. However I was completely blown away when I saw that Acura is charging you $27,890 for a bare bones TSX. The RSX MSRP is $20,325, type S only $23K and some change. An extra set of doors and a bluetooth phone system is not worth an extra $8G! For that kind of price you might as well get a decked out Camry or Accord plus added leg room over the TSX.

As for gas mileage on the G, as you can tell from above it is hit or miss. I am getting 18-19 MPG in mostly city driving and typically mash on the throttle whenever I get a chance (all the way to the next stop light).

I've had a 2003 coupe 5at and have 2005 sedan 6mt. The 03 got about 19/20. The 05 gets 20/21. Same driving, same driver. I travel about 100 miles each day and the mix is fairly 50/50 (city/hwy). Strangely, my wifes Pilot gets the same! But, I drive quicker and faster than her. She does hit many curbs though.

I was comparing them because I was looking at a completely loaded TSX, so price to a base G35 is close. However, I just got an email that I can get a base G35 sedan, MSRP is 32,300, for 28,145, which is better than carsdirect price. I really wanted to get Navi but can live without it, but think I may try to find one with a sport package...is it worth the bucks or am I better off spending the dough on a set of eibach springs? Thanks for all the help so far, going to the dealership at 7:30 pacific, so any more thoughts or help before then would be much appreciated.

Go with the sport package, it's worth the extra $

that's what I was thinking, and it's not that much more, but I am curious if they will have sport package, but no premium package...is intelligent key standard or only on premium, I oculdn't find out on their site. Am I better off ordering an 07 or get the good deal on the 06?

TSX? gas mileage? sport package? 2007? and you are going to the dealer in a couple hours....although everyone seems to be pretty helpful the best advice I can give you is to do some more research on your own. unless of course it's daddy's money - then go with the 360 modena!

If you don't mind messing with the suspension, might as well get the 350 suspension later, so I wouldn't worry about the sport suspension. I have it on my 6MT and didn't like the progressive rate springs. Makes the car handle a bit unpredictably. Have a set of 350 suspension I plan on installing soon.

I didn't know the stock sports springs were progressive. Do you have a link detailing this?

For me I had to have the sports package after finding out it includes a LSD. Even though the LSD isn't that great, $750 MSRP gets you the LSD, 18" rims and better springs and shocks (IMO); that's a steal if you ask me. Also your going to have to get Package B if you want an AUTO and the sports package.

The 6MT comes standard with the sports package.

here's the deal and why I didn't come home with one. This was gonna be my present to myself, I found out 2 days ago I passed my comps for my masters degree. My rents gave me 2k to put down on it, then, as parents do, gave me the, do you really need a luxury sport sedan at 24? Do you really need leather, $500 is a HUGE car payment, etc. And I started thinking about my student loans going into repayment and freaked out a bit. I have test drove all the cars I wanted, and the TSX was an option because I was looking at 200HP sedans, A4, TSX, etc, and stopped by the infiniti dealership, and the guy said you HAVE to at least test drive one, and as he said, "Once you drink from the fountain of infiniti, you can't ever go back." Ain't that the truth, I was all ready to buy the A4 or TSX and then, BAM, now I can't even look at another car

Congratulations on passing the exams! Good luck on picking a car. I enjoy my G35x a lot and I get 16-24 MPG, depending on type of driving. (I had an early A4 and it was highly UNreliable and wouyld recommend avoiding them).

sorry to hear you couldn't pull the trigger, but if a $500 car payment scares you it might be time to prioritize (by the way congrats on the Masters degree, I could only stomach a BA myself). So first things first, job, then house, then woman, then car. Not to say that is the right order, but from a financial standpoint it makes more sense to get into a home before buying that phat ride, I've had too many friends who now want a house, but their damn crazy car payment is keeping them from qualifing. I live in Cali so things are a bit backwards, too many people in the apts near my house drive $60K cars, yet their kids wear the same clothes every day, and they bitch about not being able to afford a home.

The thing is, I am currently paying 7.49 interest, and my payment is 458, my payment would go up with the G to 502 but I would only be paying 2.95 and since I still have 5 years on ym current vehicle (I should have never done a 6 year), it's pretty much the same thing, IMHO, except I am paying more car than interest on the G. I don't know maybe I am just rationalizing but it makes sense to me, I may still do it, but...I live in Cali too, and my boddy who is 21 (I am 24) pays 770 a month on his Z for 5 years...

try looking for a used G. I picked mine up for under 24 out the door, has every option you can get minus sport suspension. 6% 400/month, nothing down. It's a bit high of a payment, but I wanted something that I could still see valuve in driving and be proud of after 3-4 years, instead of getting something just to get something new, and then be ready to trade out of it in 3 years, still owing money, and trading up no less.

did you have the dealer verify you qualify for 2.95 financing? My wife and I picked up the G on the same deal, but went with 1.95 for 24 months, I just like to get done with paying for a car as soon as possible. I believe minimum credit score to qualify for thier current financing deal is 740.
