I got this email from an Infiniti sales person yesterday, not sure if it's true or not. They're probably just trying to pressure me to buy an 06. Basically, I'm wanting the 07 6MT sedan.

"When the 2007 comes out in November, the 6MT will not be available for several mths. later. Infiniti produces the automatics first."

 

It's entirely possible.
They may want to simplify the initial production run.

 

Completely possible. I don't know if I see them completely holding off on the 6MT, but for sure, they will be very limited. If you want one, I would just put down the fully refundable deposit and wait and hope.

 

As is the case with many new/upgraded models, it's usually best to NOT be the first guy on the block with one. Besides, it's not like it looks that different from the first generation. I probably get mine in May/June of '07.

 

When I was looking into ordering my 05 6MT, I remember one dealer stating that the 6MT's are only manufactured from December through April or so due to their low volumes.

 

Thanks for the input. Of course, later this year we'll know more. Especially if I put an order in for a 2007 6MT. If I can wait until November, then I can wait for December/January too I guess. I'm just afraid I'm going to find some great deal on a 2006 later this year that might tempt me too much. I'd rather get the 07 though, just don't want it to cost $5K more...

 

when the 03s came out it was AT only, w/ the 03.5 6mt was offered as an option
