Damn it!! They kept the polished aluminum window trim

I really like the car and I'm glad they finally went body color door handles - but why oh why the trim Maybe it's just me - but I don’t like it. That's why I had mine painted. They should (and hope they do) offer a choice - but I doubt it.

I was actually thinking of selling my 04 and getting this depending on the performance - but now with that shiny crap on the door I don’t know - might be a deal killer for me. I'm not about to go through the crap I did with this car to tone down the chrome/polished aluminum crap.

Very reminiscent of the 350Z and not going body color with the handles - what is the damn fascination with shinny??? Drives me nuts!

Otherwise I love the car

I got one of those in the mail earlier this week, Infiniti sure has improved their marketing, their display at the auto show here was much nicer than Lexus or BMW, the BMW rep gave too much attitude as well.

The chrome handles add a touch of class to the car as well as the chrome window trim, IMO, I like that, you have to remember, most of the buyers of this car are after the luxury touches.

It is a matter of opinion, I'll give you that... however - take a look at the competitor’s cars in the same class... how many do you see with this much polished aluminum all over the doors?...

Furthermore, of the people I know with a G, they (including me) are after the performance, not the luxury (as you stated). Believe me, if luxury was what I wanted the G would not be the choice. It's a nice balance of sport and semi-luxury and I prefer it to look more on the sport side.

Thats what they are trying to change with this generation. They want great performance with more luxury. They changed any known flaws of the previous generation.

If you want performance with cheapness, look to a Mustang GT!

Well, like I said - it's an opinion - but I feel compelled to mention again... They got it half right by going body color with the door handles. I just hope they lose the window trim.

For all you "luxury guys" - does Audi, Lexus, Mercedes or BMW have that gaudy **** on their cars?

I'm very anxious to see what the final product looks like. If the window trim is toned down (like most other "luxury sport cars") I'll know it's not just me that thinks the current version isn't right. If not - I'll know the car is not for me.

That's all - ta ta, bye bye.

I actually like the chrome door trim and handles. IMO, I think it looks great and goes well with the chrome grill. Just my .02 cents.
