Are dealerships taking reservations yet?

I'm thinking of putting down some money for the car this weekend.

Yes they are, or at least my dealership is. My dealer is only getting five or six 07s in their first shipment (late Oct/first Nov). Apparently they will not be getting another batch until January. I couldn't wait that long so I gave my dealership a $1k deposit to put my name on one of the first batch. Four out of the first five or six have already been spoken for.

First Batch = LOTS OF PROBLEMS, I would just wait out the rush till March or April, to get it below MSRP at least and get a car thats got some bugs worked out

Doubtful there will be "lots of problems" with the first batch. It's also doubtful a dealer will change the price very much a few months after the introduction.

I am not worried about bugs one little bit.....and if something does happen, that is what warranty is for.

Sure, and it's not like the first round anyway, Infiniti has a lot under their belt now, so it should be fine!

infiniti really does a lot of testing early and most of the features are shared with the M-series/Fuga.

i took a handful of deposits already b/c they want to be the first ones to get a 2007 G

You must have got a bad one Rich. My 05 X has been great. I only had a couple of complaints and that was the drivers seat controls and a bit of brake dusting on the fronts. I had one TSB performed last week and that was to replace the fuel shutter valve. So far I have had 26,000 troublefree miles (43,000 kms).
I am getting kind of antsy to see the 07 sedan .

That's an understatement:

I have taken 21 trips to the service department in 26 months - out of those, 12 for major repairs that just about touch every part of the car. Lemmon Law litigation against Infiniti for the inability of dealer and Infiniti Rep to fix:
- Shuttering of Transmission during up shifts [severe enough to shake the entire dashboard]
- Bose radio inoperability at random times [after replacing the HU 3 times no less]
- Creaking of the windows

This car was also towed twice back the dealer by road-side assistance.

Infiniti has offered to replace the vehicle; however, before I commit this time I'm going to inspect the new '07 much more thoroughly, and if it does not work out, a refund settlement will have to be hammered out. Hopefully the new car will be in before my 90 day window is up, otherwise I’m perusing the refund option.

What gets me about this car is that I have a loaded ’06 Mazda3 that I expense out: 31K mi and the only time it sees the shop is for tire rotations and oil changes. The car runs great and hardly ever rattles. I have 14K on the G that sits in the garage most-of-the-time and it the biggest POS I've ever owned, and I've owned just about all the marquee nameplates except Jaguar and Cadillac - and never will.

This is really not the 1st impression from nissan/infiniti I was looking for.
