Around the parts where Shane and I live gas is about $4.15 converted to US dollars and gallons. It's expected to rise another 10-15 cents this week. Goverment regulation at it's best.

To fill the G tank here it's about 80. US dollars so Shane probably got about 4-5 tankfuls

Reason I asked is my buddy just put a deposit on a BMW 335Ci Twin Turbo and he was able to get $1,500 off MSRP if he put a $500 non-refundable deposit. He did get it in writing from the dealer.
If they are like most American Stealerships, there will be an "additional dealer mark-up" on the "dealer installed options" sticker. Like when the Vipers came out, they added $10,000 to the price because "they can".

VPP usually is not available until 6 months after the release of a new model Nissan/Infiniti tends to stay at.

as far as discounts if you want to be one of the first ones it will be close to sticker.

Well I went to another dealer yesterday evening and after the salesman talked to the manager, he said they are not giving any incentives at this time for pre-ordering a '07 G35 Sedan with a non-refundable deposit. One more dealer to go this weekend.

4th was a charm.....I decided to go last night to the dealer and they are willing to give $1,500 off MSRP for $1,000 deposit. I told them I needed a week to make a final decision (they said no problem) and hopefully they won't back out by then.

That's great news!! That is a pretty fair discount if you ask me. Mine was only about $500, so you would definitely be doing well with $1500! Let us know what you decide!

Which dealer was that?

I am taking my car in next Tuesday to replace the fuel door actuator and am interested to the dealer about the ‘07s.

I got a 07 Maximia with VPP Pricing, I believe it's been less then 6 months since it's been out.

On the VPP site they don't specifiy and restrictions. I highly doubt there would be any.

But if you are not eligble for vpp, then don't think they will just extend it to you.

BTW, got my Maxima, very happy with it. After test driving the 06 G, the idea of waiting wasn't so attractive anymore.

Hope i don't regret TO MUCH not waiting.

I wouldnt even look at the msrp. go to edumunds.com and find out what the invoice is, plus upgrades and find the invoice price. You can check for rebates but I doubt they have them on 2007's. I bought my 2003 sedan, in march of 2003. I walked in and offered 800 dollars over invoice, done deal. They obviously will make their money, but you dont have to get screwed in the process.

ForeverYoung - was this from a US or Canadian dealership???

Placing my order for an 07 G35X (Prem/Nav/Tech) possibly this week likely in Diamond Graphite / Black / Alum Trim.

Thanks

you can always get a discount just depends on how you play the game. of corse just when they come out theyll be selling around sticker, but by febuary or maybe even december (when car sales are slow) ull be able to get a fair deal. by next spring the car will sell at invoice.
