Questions about G35 Rattles (if any) and Build Quality.

You are a far better person than I. Once I start a grudge, even against a car, it's never ending. I don't hate my car but I'll probably dislike Infiniti for a very long time afterwards unless the BMW manages to make Infiniti the lesser of two evils.
Well, I almost don't know what to say ...

I would have expected you to go with the Lexus IS. That's a very nice car in all regards (even if it's not my cup of tea ... not sporty enough).
I'm sure I'm not alone in waiting to see how you like the new G35 ... for better or worse.
As far as rattles go, there is a tried and true solution ... go Toyota or BMW.
For 24 years, my BMW's have always been excellent wrt developing rattles, and my wife had similarly good experiences with Toyota's cars. But, it can be argued that Toyota's have too little driving character and BMW's don't aren't a strong value proposition.

I wondered if John would see RLampke's post.
I agree with everything said except the BMW value proposition. Despite not having every tech feature that the 2007 G35 has, the character of the car speaks volumes for it's value in my humble opinion.

Although I disagree w/your selection and design of your Flea-market spec. audio equipment, I do however agree w/your vehicle selection. My 1st selection was the IS350, but the backseat is just too cramped for my children w/I do not have the RX at my disposal. The BMW 3 is not a roomy as the G, but it's adequate. Unfortunately pursuing a replacement vehicle is the least path of resistance here, so I'll have to play w/those cards for now – but only for now. I do however find it ironic that you own vehicles that do not offer Bose systems. If that isn't the ultimate expression of your BS I'm not sure what is.
Nevertheless, I cannot wait to critique this audio system

Ah, but you don't know what audio system I have in it!

The BMW system (Harman) in the e39 Five series is in my personal opinion ... mediocre. Tonal balance did not sound right to me, bass output and bandwidth was just modest for my listening levels, imaging did not suit my preference, and I didn't like hearing tweeters over my shoulder. I'm not saying you wouldn't find the system perfectly superior per your preferences, but for mine ... it was not. Of course, I don't know what reference you use for your judgements.
Anyone here know what RLampke uses as his reference for what audio systems should sound like?

I believe RLampke uses Mark Levinson in Lexus' and home theater systems. Aren't they what Bose utilized when designing the "Studio on Wheels" system for the next generation G35? I can't imagine they'd be gutsy enough to cart journalists to and from live music shows and then have them hear the same music inside the sedan for comparison if they hadn't.

No, we didn't use a M Levinson system
