A-ha That is a great upgrade, but for those getting the '07 that's going to suck. I wonder if the sedan will receive the VQ37 as well, and it if does that will be a big disservice for those who did purchase the '07.

...but I also wonder how accurate that statement is also.

My bad. I said it was in the C&D article. Too many articles in too short a time. I get confused

Understood, but to have a major upgrade like brakes [abet an optional upgrade] and a motor upgrade after just one year - would leave me feeling a little in-the-cold. It's always better to wait one production cycle anyhow if one can.

Some might argue they did the opposite from 04 to 05 with the change in brakes.

Don't think the 3.7 motor change is set in stone yet.

No sweat Trey. I know my head is spinning reading all this news. It's kind of exciting when there is a model intro even if one is not buying.

Well the brakes already kickass, even if they are just one piston, so having the current brakes on the '07 wouldn't bother me a bit.

Ya, but that was to address a clear issue w/the brakes and that was after 2 production cycles. The new offering seems great regardless - and like you said, how accuracy is this statement given the source. Infiniti in the past and always reserved the exotic brakes for the coupe; but it would be nice.

^agreed.

The wait on upgraded brakes may be delayed due to the release date of the Coupe.

They don't want to steal some thunder from it or perhaps are still being finalized.

Why would they even compare the 330i with the 07 G35 sedan?

Shouldnt it be the 07 G35 sedan with the 07 335i?

It only makes sence as they are both next gen vehicles.

(Biased articles...)
Not really, the 335 is a Coupe...they will compare that to the new G35 Coupe out next spring.

I disagree. I think they should improve each model year if they have the right equipment to do so. No sense in holding back just to make the early adopters feel better about their purchase.

FWIW, Lexus has already done this. They went from a 2006 GS300 w/ 245 hp 3.0L V6 to a 2007 GS350 w/ a 3.5L 303 hp V6. Furthermore, the 2007 model has larger brakes, and Gen 5 nav which has voice recognition and voice dialing of your cell phone via bluetooth which can be used while the car is in motion.

Another thing the 2008 G35 may have = upgraded sound system which allows you choose who to optimize the sound for (driver only, driver and front seat passenger, or all 4 passengers). There was an interview w/ a Bose representative who indicated they would be adding this feature to the 2008 G.

BMW is also releasing the '07 335i Sedan as well with the same 300HP/300TQ (although some have suggested those figures are well underrated) Twin Turbo engine as well. My guess is that a loaded '07 G35 Sedan will be around $40k. Although the 335i Sedan base is $38,700 (loaded is about $52k), it will still be the one that the G35 competes with directly. It's just you'll still get more bang for your buck with the Infiniti G35, even if the 335i is a tenth of a second or two faster and handles better.

Oh, didn't know the Sedan would have that kind of power...The 1/4 mi times I saw were like 13.6 or 13.7 at around 104 I believe...the M3 runs the 1/4 in 13.2 or 13.3and it was rated at 333 BHP, but with only like 269 or so lbs/trq...don't quote me on the torque, but I know it was low...but those straight sixes are just so damn balanced and run so smooth...everything I have always read has not found BMW to underrate the power, but instead the mags always say it appears as if there is more power than listed...going back to the 320 and earlier 330 series...this was always brought up.

In any case, The TT set up w/300 BHP, but more importantly with that much torque is easily capable of the 1/4 mi times I have seen...Infiniti either needs to go FI or up the displacement or drop the damn V8 into the G to keep up. We can't keep getting different variants of the 3.5 VQ...the new 350Z is really pushing the limits supposedly at like 315 or more BHP...that is ridonkulous coming out of this V6... Something has to give.

But the competition is great for all of us so keep it coming.
