What is the deal with I Pod integration on the '07 G35? Will there be a plug somehwere? If so, will the song title show up on the screen and will you be able to change the songs with the steering wheel controls?

 

You should be able to aux in with RCAs in the center console.
But, no controls

 

I have read (can't remember where now) that actual Ipod integration will be featured on 08 models.

With the aux in, there's a Belkin, & Monster cable setup for ipod.
It has a low profile angle bus connector. c/w power outlet connector.

You can also go with ipod air remote controller (wireless).
But you'd have to velcro it to the dash or some place at hand.

 

it's not definite but when i cornered the engineer at the autoshow he said 07 will not have ipod integration, just the aux and that ipod will probably be 08

 

I also read that the '08 G35 will get the iPod integration, iPod Music Link or whatever they'll call it. It's too bad for '07 owners with iPods, but at least you have the AUX jack. Acura/Honda owners currently only get a iPod hack called the Acura/Honda Music Link with no control over the iPod (they even have to disconnect the iPod to look for a song or change something). Now, Mercedes does it right with full control/contents of the iPod displayed on the dashboard display.

Exactly! There is no excuse for this. I also read somewhere that there would be no iPod integration till 08 so Shane is correct.

Exactly. I'm sure what the hype of iPOD integration is all about. The on-board music server is a much better interface for the car IMO. If its HD space that's the concern, I'm not sure more than 9.5 Gb of space is really needed anyhow. Besides, I wonder if iPOD integration is going to integrate into the vehicles telematics [IE: voice response]; for as I understand it, the Acura TSX's iPOD integration is only visual.

 

I want real iPod integration and the "Music Box" because I'm freakin' greedy.

Right on the inside of the armrest....so that is pretty easy access IMO.

What would the difference be between actual iPod integration and using the AUX port?? I don't own an iPod, so just curious.
