Am I the only one...

...who would honestly buy a G35 over a 3 series even if they were priced equally? I ask this because of other recent threads concerning prices of both the G35 and new 335i, and the consensus seems to be that, given the choice, most would rather have the 335i. I obviously haven't driven the 2007 sedan, but based on the last model and what I see in pictures, I would honestly rather have it than the 335i. Am I alone?

2007 Infiniti G35x AWD over the 2007 BMW 335i all day, everyday! The BMW 3 Series is just too small for my taste.

I would take the G35, but it's more of a size issue. I can't sit in a 3-series without hitting my knee on the steering wheel.

I haven't driven either car (obviously), but I would say based on performance, I would rather have the 335i. Afterall, everyone is raving about this car's performance for a reason. Based on overal exterior and interior styling, I would much rather have the G. I personally think it looks better than the Bimmer. At the end of the day, I would need to drive both cars to see which one I like better overall.

Most reviews estimate that the base MSRP will be $32.5-33k. With the Premium package, around $36k. So out the door, you're looking at $40k. Still a great bargain, even if you buy at MSRP. With a few thou off MSRP (but over invoice), the G35 is no doubt an even bigger bargain.

I would honestly by a G35 over a 3 series even if they were priced evenly for a number of reasons:

1.) I currently own an Infiniti and I have connected with these cars better then any other brand so far.

2.) With the gorgeous exterior styling plus a stout engine, I don't need the best interior in the world.

3.) I have never been treated as well at any other dealer than I have at Pfeiffer Infiniti in Grand Rapids.

4.) I like buying cars based on my personal taste and I don't follow crowds. Plus, I don't need the cachet of BMW, MB etc.

Having said all of that...I'm still young and I may find cars in the future that I will fall in love with. For right now Infiniti has something going and they've got me hooked.

+1,

I just love the look of Infiniti's overall image. The G, IMO, is one of the nicest looking Sedans on the road. I think the M is also the nicest looking Sedan in it's class. And I think the FX is by far the sexiest SUV on the road in any class. Their styling definitely suits my eye in a big way.

Based on past reliability statistics, I would also take a G35 over a 3 series if cost was not an issue.

I am on the bubble over the 335 Coupe, largely on the combination of style and performance: 3 series sedans are ugly and cramped around the knees.

But I suspect that once in the 07 G the combination of comfort front and back, the new interior and performance improvments and the price differential will make it very hard no to replace my '03. Also, Coleman in North Bethesda has been about the best dealer I have ever dealt with; straight, knowledgable, and fantastic service.

If they are the same price, I would take the 3 series sedan over G35 sedan, but I'll take the G35 Coupe over 3 series coupe all day. BMW 3 series coupe design is pretty dreadful despite the performance and name brand appeal.

not fan of either new 3 or the G design. So I would take E46 330zhp over either of them.
