How many of you would be interested in a G25?
At first, I wanted to say, Never. Personally, I'd want the more powerful version if given an option.
Then I thought, what about a G25 or G30 that made around 260hp. This assuming they installed a larger motor in the top model that put out say around 350hp. Would it make sense then ? Not sure.
Maybe change the naming convention a bit, G350 and G250?
Only if they didn't reduce the value of the brand I suppose.

I'll take a G25 V6.. What does handling have to do with raw power?
a BMW starts at 3.0L V6, 230 hp,
a Mercedes starts at 2.5L V6, 201 hp,
an Audi A4 starts at 2.0L T I-4, 200 hp,
and a Lexus starts at 2.5L V6, 204 hp.
The G25 is/will be available in Japan and other countries, why not the US too?

The more I think about it, the more I realize such a move would be bad for Infiniti. That said, keep in mind that Infiniti will be offering the CX25 next year as an X3/RDX competitor, so it's very likely that the VQ25HR will be in that vehicle.....but hey who knows what tricks Infiniti has in store?

No diesel for me, just more torque. I think it would improve our low end performance.

The G20 was a rebadged Nissan Primera, i.e. FWD chassis, 4 cylinder engine.
The G35 (hypothetical G25) is a rebadged Skyline, superior RWD chassis, worldclass V6.
I think it would do fine here against the IS250, 325/328, TSX and I would definitely consider one depending how much better the gas mileage is.

Excerpt taken from link:
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has newly developed two new-generation six-cylinder V-type engines for front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicles featuring powerful performance and improved environmental friendliness.
Again, please take this as nothing more than a guesstimated hunch.
