Don't know if it's a repost; if it is, my apologies.

Can anyone find the date of this article? I'm hoping we won't see this problem with the 6MTs being shipped out now to dealerships:

Clutch operation on the six-speed manual is heavier than we would expect on a sedan, even a sports sedan. This makes for sometimes rocky clutch engagement, especially at low speeds and light throttle. A luxury car's shift lever ought not vibrate as much as the one in the pre-sale test car, but Infiniti techies said this was an anomaly that will be cured in cars built for sale to consumers.

Do we know that any Sport MTs are in fact being shipped to dealerships? I suspect that the iniitial dealer allocations would be all automatics. Sport MTs are likely to be very rare at dealerships even next year, if not purely a factory order item. That would be a problem for folks like me who would like a Sport MT but would also like to try before we buy. Based on this review, can we just test-drive a Sport automatic and take it on faith that the pre-production issues with the MT have been sorted out? Same thing with the rear-wheel-steering option. It sounds nifty, but before I sign up for it I would like to know if the accompanying suspension changes make the ride too harsh for my taste. How many G35s sitting on the dealer's lot will just happen to have that option, which has a lot less general appeal than, say, a killer audio system? Few if any, I suspect.

Interesting and fairly complimentary towards the new model.

It's likely Infiniti will be motivated to correct the deficiencies mentioned before the car gets to the public.

Good article. I was suprised when it mentioned there were no options available on the base model. That seems strange.

I don't think it will be hard to find Sport 6mt's. I believe dealers are forced to order manuals so there is always a few on the lot. From the reviews, it doesn't sound like the 07 6mt and clutch are any different from my 05. I wish it was a little smoother but still better than driving the automatic.
