If they were expecting a "Sport MT", they would probably say so on the list, since in Infiniti-speak, the "Sport MT" is a distinct model, not an option package. This confirms my suspicion that MTs will be rare-to-nonexistent in initial allocations.

Whether they call it "Preview Night" or a "Release Party" (in another post) it looks like 10/26 will be the official release date. That's probably the "late October" date for release of prices, too.

 

Yeah, I got the same email from Kaye da Costa @ Niello Infiniti today. Out of the several Infiniti dealerships I've called/visited, it seems that she is the only one who checks in with me regularly to see if I'm still interested in the 07 sedan. Looks like she will be getting my business.......IF I can get a good deal on one & when I say "good deal" that means NOT paying MSRP.
I was surprised to see the large amount of cars with the Journey package, compared to just a few Sport models. I would think the Sport would be more popular. Hmmmm.......

Concord's a bit far for me. The guy who's communicating (not that fequently) with me is Jared Friedman, the Internet Sales Manager. And it doesn't look like they have the manual anyway.

The Oakland dealership said they should have a model car on display (not sure if it's for test drives) starting Oct 23. I'll contact her to see if they've ordered any Sports (MT and auto) models.

How come some of those VINs start with "U"? What does that mean. I only recognize the one that starts with "J" since that means built in Japan.

Same questions .... what kind of a deal did you get ?
Since pricing is not known yet, can you back out of the deal (once pricing comes out) without any penalty ??

 

If there isn't a price yet, there can't be a sales contract, and without a sales contract, there's no binding deal. What he probably did was put a deposit down on the car, in return for which the dealership promised to not sell it to anyone else for xx days after prices come out. Or something like that. I've never heard of a deposit on a car not being fully refundable.

 

Wow, truly looks like Nissan is phasing out MT cars, only 3, and people bought them without knowing the price. How bizarre..
