The car looks huge. I like the front end of the car and side views, the back looks ok (much better with the dual exahust), the back 3/4 view looks massive and the interior is much better then in the past.

Just heard back from my dealer (applies to CA):

The holes are drilled at the dealership. Our normal policy is to drill the holes and attach a license plate bracket. California DMV can assess penalties to the dealership that sold the car if there is no front license plate. We will try not to install one on your car. It is part of our check in process, but we will monitor you vehicle. As for the rest of the inventory, unless it is a pre-sold car, we will install the bracket. We will need to have you sign a release of liability so we will not get fined.

The tech package is about $1200 CDN, so I can't see it any more than $1k US.

If you're spending around $38,000 for a car, what is an extra $2,000 anyways? You might as well get everything you want in the car when you're spending around $38,000 for it. This way, you'll have no regrets. I'm going completely fully loaded with my 2007 Infiniti G35x AWD ( or 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport ).

wow the old G looks like a toy car compared to that 07! It looks like a little platic boxy car. Wow the 07 looks like so much of an improvement to me. Really looking like a luxury brand now

Yep, I was thinking the same thing earlier. It is funny how perceptions change once improvements are made.

You can really tell the huge improvement when they are side by side. I like my 05 but it looks out of place next to the 07.
