Why would you want the range for the door button to be any farther than the length of your arm? Makes no sense.
If you really want to unlock from a distance, the IKey fob will still work just like any other fob.

I didn't say I wanted to unlock the door from a distance. I want to be able to lock the door from a distance. I am having a remote start installed sometime this week which will utilise my ikey fob by pressing the lock button 3 times to start the car. Long distance would be nice in this situation.

If you press the trunk button twice, that also unlocks all the doors, too, or is it only for the trunk? Similarly, does the front passenger door button allow double click, too?

You can press either door button twice to unlock all doors (and the gascap cover). Pressing the trunk button only unlocks the trunk.

It doesn't pop open, it just unlocks.

I don't think the range is that far (for the unlock button on the doors and trunk), the sensors are on either side of the car and at the back. From what I can remember, my wife tried but couldn't unlock the passanger door even though I was right by the car walking to the driver's side door. You have to be near the door/trunk you want to unlock for safetly reasons. You wouldn't want some one to be able to unlock your doors while you were putting something in the trunk or something without you knowing.

So it's different than the IS350? When I was about to drive my friend's IS350, he had the fob in his pocket and walking toward the passenger's side. I opened the door from the driver's side before he opened his side.

Yes, I can recall another time when my wife wanted wanted to drive and I had the key in my pocket and I was standing at the passenger door but she couldn't unlock the driver's door with the button on the door handle.

my question would be:
For 6MT, do you have to disenage clutch, and press "START" Engine? or brake is enough?
