I have 4 year old twins and a benad new G35 Sedan (06). I have two car seats in the back and I went to Target and bought the THICKEST bath Towels they had that matched my car seat color and I put them across the seat first and then the car seats on top. I don't drive them both around much so it is not too big a deal. If I had to drive them all the time I would have gotten something bigger but I can move my seat up for a couple of hours a week.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Now what do you do to get the little bugger to sleep through the night?

Congrats, Canuck. Life deals some pretty exciting stuff once in a while. Good luck... I think we'll both need it.

ah, we still have another 6 months to go, but I figured I'd better start getting ready now. Don't need any surprises once the big day finally gets here.

So that would put you around March/April timeframe? And I think that no matter how "ready" we are, we'll have some surprises!!

FYI...the Recaro Young Sport is forward facing only...they didn't mention that on their website before the recent update. And i didn't see it until i looked at the manual this week!!! It makes a nice room decoration for now. Oh well, off to get a Britax Marathon, until the kid is one and can sit forward!!!

My wife and I are considering the new G sedan. We checked it out at the Miami car show last weekend. There were 2 pre-production models and they looked great. We could not sit in either but two things caught our eye given that we plan on putting two Britax Marathon carseats in the back seat.

1) the rear seat outboard headrests are very large and might make it difficult to cleanly install the large Britax Marathon carseats (maybe other toddler seats as well). These seem to be even larger than those on the current G.

2) the front drivers seat must have been all the way back... but there seemed to be only about 4-5 inches max of room between the back of the driver's seat and the front edge of the back seat. I'm 5'11", so I am hoping it won't be as bad as it appeared when adjusted for my height.

Anyone else thinking of putting carseats in the back of the '07 G35 sedan? Any thoughts on whether they will fit? Owners of the 1st gen G with carseats may have good input too since the cars are similar sized.

Thanks for any input.
Well, we test drove a Journey and a Sport (AT) last weekend. In our opinion (coming from a 4Runner) the Journey would be a better fit for hauling around a 3 year old and an 18 month old. The sport was just enough more firm to cause us to like the Journey ride better. I did not get to drive a Journey with the Optional sport wheels so we would have to check how much that affects the Journey ride compared with the stock wheels/tires.

Regarding the Britax Marathon carseats. We put one in the back seat of a demo car. The outboard headrests do indeed make this carseat not fit too well at all IMHO. That and the fact that the rear seats no longer recline have the Marathon leaning forward more than it should and thus leg room for a child would be minimal (kick, kick, kick...). I did not fully install the seat and strap it down. I guess I could buy some more room when doing so but it will probably dig into the headrest a bit (could use the rubber mats, yes).

I am a bit bummed that Infiniti made these two decisions (rear headrests and no recline).

Anyone have any stories of putting one or two toddler carseats in a new G yet (forward facing)? There is not that much else that we like for a new vehicle. We really liked the car.

I'm afraid we only need one rear facing seat as yet. We took a test drive with the little one and I can say that I had to move the front seat up a little bit from where it was at (I guess is started in the furthest back position), but by no more than I have to move the seat up on the Odyssey (because of the strap on the back of the seat). We weren't using the base then though, so we'll see what it's like after we've installed the seat base. We're using a Combi Centre EX travel system, which is pretty small and pretty light. Also important to us is the fact that the stroller fit comfortably in the trunk. We'll see how it is with the trunk mounted CD changer, but it didn't seem like it would be for us.

I've got one six month old in a Graco Snugride in the center backseat and it fits great. We'll be changeing to the Britax Marathon for a front facing carseat in another six months ( but I'll definitly take a look at that Ricaro, that thing looks sweet )

Congrat Canuks and sdg35. It's a whole new world. To help the little one sleep and you stay sane, get the book or dvd, heck get both of " Happiest Baby on the Block" It teaches you how to calm the baby and help her sleep. Ours has been sleeping 8-12 a night since 8 weeks. The tight swaddling is key.
