Transferring Music Files

Ok, so here's a rather interesting question. I have all my music stored on my bluetooth-capable laptop. Since the new G has bluetooth, does that mean I can use bluetooth to transfer all my music to the music box rather than loading it to a CF card or burning a million CD's?

Great question, but I don't think so. It has never been mentioned at least.

I kinda doubt it. Wouldn't it take entirely too long anyways?

Most likely no.
Bluetooth has the concept of "profiles" -- 2 devices need to operate on the same "profile" to "talk" to each other.

From all I've read, the bluetooth in the G is more or less for handsfree communication & some interfacing with a phone -- which is very different from p2p networking w/ a laptop.

Your best bet is to use a large capacity CF card (4gb should be fine) - remember the internal HD has only a little over 9gb space available. (which is only <15 CDs - use a CD-RW !!)

Yes, it would take longer......much longer. A typical Bluetooth connection will get about 700kbps throughput, while a CF card (depending on CF card type) can get throughput rates of up to 133Mbps.

Another question regarding the Music Box. If the Gracenote database does not recognize a song from the file name, will you be able to edit it like you can in iTunes or WMP?
