Smg?

Looks like the rumors I heard last year were kinda true with the '07 sedan getting the sequential shifting/rev matching https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/78926-smg.html

I wonder if they will go the whole way on the '08 coupes? Anybody have updates?

How are they kinda true???
I don't see any updated info.

paddles (sequential shifting) aren't a sequential tranny... it's just MM.

I know. The question was if anyone had heard whether they would go the whole way with a SMG on the '08 coupe?

Arrrgh, that is not what he is asking. He is just asking if the 08 Coupe will have SMG.

Anyting that comes in *future* will be DCT or DSG (dual clutch)

JMHO but it will be 6mt or AT *only* for a while yet. (unfortunately)

I don't remember if it is due in 2008 or 2009, but the next AT will be a 7-speed.

I designed some of the parts. They are currently in validation.

It's becoming much more difficult to justify a MT. I used to be a die-hard manual shift guy, but today's AT's really are making the manuals less and less attractive, not only from a convenience perspective, but now performance as well. A seven speed AT will be fantastic if they get the ratios and programming right.

I'm sticking with an MT so none of my friends or family can drive it.

That would be pretty cool if they put a 7-speed in the '08 coupe and sedan.
