CD changer in trunk solution...

I know this concerns several members that want the Navi, but are not happy with the loss of trunk space.

FWIW, I would consider....

1. With the 9.3G in the HU.... this isn't really necessary.
If the 9.3 wasn't big enough...I would use the aux/in (ipod) for additional requirements.

2. When negotiating a deal, I would have them include the trunk finisher for a non-Navi car, from parts.

3. I'd yank the son of a gun out & install the other trunk finisher

- don't know if this helps NE1..... but just something that came to mind.

Good idea Ian. I really can't see me using the CD Changer at all, so I might see if they can do that.

Thats a great idea Ian, that was one of my complaints about the loss of trunk space.

Wonder how it would respond to the CD changer being disconnected? It might not work at all.

It will be fine....
It's the same as the aux/in.... there isn't always a device connected.

A lot of cars are prewired for CD changers in the trunk (though not as many as there used to be)

What exactly is the aux/in (ipod) input? Will I be able to use any MP3 player or only the ipod?

ANy MP3, but you will have to control (playlists) from the device itself.

Well, considering you've already paid for that sucker, might as well leave it there. My concern is not so much with the fact that it has been moved to the back (although, it WAS a concern for me), but rather the loss of trunk opening space.

BTW, this may be a fundamental question, but do the rear seats fold down?

Your choice,..........
Just offering a solution for those peeps where trunk space is a major consideration.

I'm sure it would be handy for some.
With the size of the trunk, I know I've never needed it.

On the plus side it adds to chassis rigidity.

I guess this has just made my quest for an SUV, that much more viable.

LOL.....easy for you to say. I know you have seen how much Karen brings on a trip . The lack of trunk space has always been a problem for me .
