No pics, but my visit to see the new G

I didn't take any pictures, because someone on the forum already did (of the G35 at Austin Infiniti). I went today after work to see it, and the new G is way better in person than in pictures. The hood looks super good, and the silver color is just perfect for this car. I am driving an '04 TL now, and I have to admit that the new G's interior is on par with the TL's. From the pictures, I was afraid the "washi" aluminum accents would have a rough texture and feel to them, but they are actually very smooth (a good thing). The seats really do wrap around you good, and the whole feel is of a cozy cockpit. My TL is more spacious, but the G is like a perfect fit. The stitching on the leather is also very sweet.

Things I didn't like:
-The front center armrest storage is lacking (not deep at all)
-The middle rear seat is really uninhabitable because the side seats are so bolstered (and the floor hump is in the way--even though it is not as intruding as the ones in the Lexus').

Overall, I can't wait to drive it and see if I will join Infiniti.

You're right the rear seat is really designed for two people. The middle might be good for a child at best. One thing I noticed over my '03 is infiniti did away with the reclining rear seat.

The one thing everyone agrees on...the interior is WAY better.

Overall, I can't wait to drive it and see if I will join Infiniti.
I hope you do. The more the merrier

Best of luck with your decision.

They got rid of the reclining rear seat to get that extra rear leg room.

I, and most, share the same thoughts when they first saw the 07 in person. As far as the things you don't like, it's all tradeoffs of rwd. IMO, they are extremely small penalties for the joys of rwd.
