BINGO.... good idea Wayne.

I thought the two combined was just a little strange.
Probably more with some colours than others.
It almost made it look like an aftermarket add on. (spoiler on spoiler)

JMO but if you like the deck spoiler, painting the chome one would be an excellent idea.

Something tells me that there will not be many changes for a while. The 1st gen was not originally engineered for a worldwide release. Things like the controls being biased towards right hand drive and the lack of refinement for the luxury market are signs of that. The new G35 is much more refined and balanced and has most of the options that everyone else has. I would wait a while just to make sure there aren't any defects in the new design and for better deals.

I would not buy the first revision of a new model. I would wait for them to make all the usual fixes and get the later one.

I've decided that the new G35 will be my next vehicle, but at this point I'm very satisfied with my current car (besides the warranty expiring in March '07) and barring a major repair, I'll be waiting for probably the '08 model - what I'm holding out for is a 6- or 7-speed auto or SMG-like transmission. I just cannot believe they are releasing the '07 with just a 5-speed...

I actually kinda hope so, cause then people who see my car will know I have an 07 and was an early adopter! For some reason, the piece doesnt bother me as much (except for holding fingerprint smudges).

I bought the first year of the redesign of the Civic back in 2001 w/o even seeing the car in person and it's been great to me. The later year's got something extra like EL gauges and alloy wheels, but I had mine first!

The 2008 Infiniti G35 will probably be identical to the 2007 MY. The new transmission won't happen until the MCC. I'll be getting a 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport because I could care less about what minor changes the 2008 MY may/may not have. I'll sacrifice the minor changes (if any) in order to have the car one year earlier. If you keep waiting you'll be waiting forever because newer and better things are always coming out.

Enhancements to the 2007 M include:
· New option packages, including revised Advanced Technology Package, revised Journey Package, and new Technology Package.
· Advanced Technology Package includes the 5.1-channel Bose® Studio Surround™ audio system with a DVD-Video/DVD-Audio drive mounted in the center console, and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC).
· New available 18-inch five-spoke wheel option (non-Sport models only).
· Standard climate controlled seats on M45, M45 Sport, M35 Sport and M35x (available on M35).
· Standard High Intensity Discharge (HID) auto-leveling xenon low-beam headlights with Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) on M45; available on M35 and M35x.
· Full-size spare no longer available.

The 2007 Infiniti M didn't get any major changes so I doubt the 2008 Infiniti G35 will. Plus, I like the chrome lip on the 2007 Infiniti G35. It adds character and it has the potential to be another signature touch (like the tail-lamps) for the Infiniti line.

I thought that way too nearly my entire life, have been always careful. I got a 98 Nissan that was a 7/97 build, and one of the first with the side air bags. Swore that I'd get a later build in the future, i.e. 98 car = 2/98 or >.....

Well, 2 1/2 wks ago I ordered a first year car and now I think I should not look back. It all boils down to what you want--a lot can change over a year. If you want this car, like it, and feel the pricing is there, get it. Infiniti has an excellent warranty. If you don't need the car that badly, waiting never hurts, that's a lot of money that wont be spent on it this year.

My point is this last car order made me look at things a little differently...there's a price to be paid to get what you want, and sometimes it may be worth it, other times, no....

Here's another thought about not waiting until '08. What are the chances prices for the '08 don't go up? I wouldn't be surprised if 1/2 way thru '07 prices don't go up.

Obviously I have no proof but history has shown when a manufacture comes out with a new model or one that has been redesigned they generally go up the second year.

Factors could be anything from added standard features, to cost of living and building the product. Workers need raises, price of steel goes up, oil, materials in general.
