I'm looking to make a deal on an 07 G35S AT Black/Black w/ Premium and Nav. What discounts are your dealers offering you? $US please.

I won't bother telling you what I paid for my G35S 5AT since it is CDN pricing, but I did get a 1% discount off of MSRP.Originally Posted by kdsooner

Just spoke to my sales guy. He said if I need to order a car I wanted, I will have to wait 3 months, does that sound right? and he will deduct $2000 from msrp. good deal?

$2000? Wow, amazing. Even $1000 is practically impossible for me (granted, I want the car in the next 2 months at the latest). Where are you located? And are we talking about US dollars here?Originally Posted by elyk

Personally I think it's an ok deal, I mean who knows, maybe a year from now it could be like the 2k6, 4,500 off list, or as someone else claimed, yet another grand more than that. But for today, it strikes me as about right.Originally Posted by elyk

The thing is I cannot comprehend why it would take 3 mos. If you can wait, that's perfectly fine, nothing wrong. But I don't trust a dealership to look out for you that long. I'd want to see my name in the Infiniti system with the equipment I wanted, and not merely take the dealership's word.
It sounds to me like Infinitis are not ordered to spec as some of the othe luxury cars are. Why not take a car from stock? And penalize the dealership $500 so tell him $2500 off since you're saving him the trouble of custom ordering (if that really exists) a car that he may not be able to sell? He gives you $2500 today, the car is gone off the lot, and the money is in his bank next Monday. Everyone wins.

Sewell in Dallas said it would take 90 days to receive a car special order.

I was told 90 days as well.
Depends how you look at it. I got nothing off the sticker but got $500 worth of free stuff so I guess you could say I $500 off sticker....

How do they justify 90 days? BMW takes as little as 6 weeks, as long as 8 weeks, and you can track the order online, through your dealership, or through bmwusa and the 800 number.
Sorry to be skeptical, but I'm wondering if this is like trying to get a Camry when the bodystyle first changes? There is no order specifically for the customer, it's the dealership seeing what they're getting off of a list, and then trying to locate exactly what the customer wants through a trade or swap with another dealership. Like kids trading PokeMon cards.
At least thus far, from the forum, people seem unable to contact Infiniti directly to find out what ship the car is on and where it is. If that's par for the course, I would not wait 3 mos., I'd just take something from stock. There has to be a VIN linked with a customer's name at Infiniti, imho, or it's not a true order...

I was told that the car I wanted was not in their Nov. 1st allotment, nor in their December shipment. They also weren't sure how dealer trades would work at this poitn with each car being is such high demand. Have to wait and see on that one.
BUT IF I chose to order my own car, it woudl be approx. 90 days.

There you go, the car you want is not in their allotment. So Infiniti is not building a car for you, the dealer is just hoping to come across one that will match your configuration (there are only so many so a statistician can calculate the probability). From their experience, I bet they can somehow get anything in a 90 day window. That's what I'm getting from what's been said here...again, this kind of money should equate to lack of run-around imho....

Is the 2007 G35 in high demand in other areas because in NJ, most of the allocations aren't called for?
My deaker has an initial shipment of 7 G35s, and 6 were presold.

The dealer I went to yesterday had roughly 30 coming in and 3 were pre-sold. Another dealer had 10 pre-sold out of 35.Originally Posted by canuck

90 days is the norm for Infiniti for ordering. I had to order my 03 coupe and it took that long.
It wasn't them waiting for an allotment, it just takes forever.
It sux, cause I'll prob have to order again, oh well.

How much of a discount do you think they will give if you pay cash? (sorry...don't want to sound like a rich bastard, just curious)
Anyway, I'm in SoCal and my father put a 1k deposit on a lakeshore slate journey, prem + whatever they throw in. I'm hoping they'll give at least 1-1.5k off...is this too much to ask for? After using the invoice pricing provided in this sub-forum, I figure they'll still be making 2K min. They have 18 cars (already at dealer)...and several are already pre-sold. I understand that if they have people lining up to pay MSRP....then they shouldn't have to offer a discount, but who pays MSRP for a g35???
On a side note, I'm extremely happy with the pricing and hope it increases tremendously next year, so that everyone and their mom doesn't end up with this car (like the last G).
