IS250 on order... Too late to cancel?
Well... somewhere out there is a not so happy lexus salesperson.
I went to the Infiniti dealer today, checked out the new 07 one last time, got an unexpected OK from the wifey (she had an affinity for the IS), then pulled the trigger. Since this Infiniti dealership was under the same dealership family as the Lexus dealer I went to, they took care of everything. Great service all around.
I ordered a liquid plat x w/ nav and premier and should be expecting it in a week. I needed the car ASAP so I had no choice but to forgo the tech package which was apparently limited in availability in the color configuration I wanted. It would've been nice to have a rear camera, but I can live without it.
I'll probably send my lexus sales rep a letter with a little something for his trouble.
Thanks to everyone here for your help. I'll post pictures when I get it... hopefully VERY soon.

If AWD is a requirement, you might want to consider the flagship at Acura. The RL. They are selling the 2006s for 39-40k now trying to clear them out!! That is a 50k car for 39-40 which is a hell of a steal.

The TL had no AWD option so I decided against it. The 2006 G35 drove beautifully, but came up short in design and interior quality. The IS250 drive was mediocre at best, but I thought the interior quality and design was impressive.
I knew the 2007 g35 was coming out soon but I was on the fence about the new exterior design after seeing few photos on the web. I needed the car sooner than later so a month-long wait was not ideal.
After negotiating a great deal on a 2007 IS250, I put a deposit down and was told I'd get the car soon. A week later, a car with the exact options I ordered was finally located but wasn't scheduled to come in for another 2 weeks. 3 weeks later it still hasn't come in yet and now the new g35 launch is less than 2 weeks away.
I stopped by my local Infiniti dealer a few days ago to check out the new model. The 2 issues I had with the 2006 version were fixed on the new model. The new interior and exterior is much better. The car looked 10x better in person compared to the photos I saw on the web.
Today I finally got notice that my IS250 has come into port and I should get it in a day or two, but now the new g35 has me regretting my order.
Am I too late? Is it possible to get out of my deal without losing my deposit? The IS250 is a great car, but I'd hate to be driving it around wishing I had a g35 instead.
It was a bad move on my part to put money down on a car that wasn't physically there yet. It was another bad move to check out the new g35 knowing my car was coming in soon.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for the novel.

That's a nice gesture to give the Lex salesman a little something.

The only thing that I need to get over now is not having the tech package.
