Does the new G let you view your photos from the CF card?

Here's another question. How is the music organized when you put it on the flash card? Is it only a list of all files (songs), or can you organize albums, artists, etc. like you can on iTunes?

1) Does a blank CF card come with the car?...or is the idea you just buy as many as you like.

2) What memory formats are accepted by the CF slot in the car?

3) What is the maximum capacity of the card ( ie how many songs can it hold!)

4) How do you 'play' or activate the songs on the card?....ie is there a button on the nav display for flash card??? It's not radio, or disc or aux...so which button do you press!!!

5) Can you shuffle, skip, reverse etc????

1 - NO - you buy the CF
2 - If your card can work with a CF-adapter (for eg SD to CF), then it work in the car (as long as it is using FAT16/FAT32)
3 - dunno
4 - Push Disc/Aux button till u get to CF mode
5 - Yes you can (shuffle via RPT but)

3) Well 8GB CF cards are about $140 and can hold around 2000 songs depending on the bitrate the songs are encoded.

The part I am still not clear on is , what is the native format for the flash card reader in the dash....ie, if I dont want to bother with adapters, what does the slot accept directly? The formats I know for cards are:

-SD
-Mini SD
-Micro SD
-XD
-CF Type I
-CF Type II
-SM
-XD
-MS ( Memory Stick)
-MS Pro
-MS Pro DUO
-Translflash
- etc

So I assume one of these cards is the format that simply slips right into the dash, and that's the card I would want to buy. So what format would that be?

CF Type I is what fits directly in the dash.

Does anyone foresee any compatibility issues if I get an SD-to-CF adapter? I have mostly SD cards, although I also own SmartMedia and MemoryStick. I really wnat to avoid adopting another new card type if I could help it.

Taken out of the manual......

Compatibility with other media:
If a commercially available CompactFlash
adapter is inserted into the slot, your
memory media can also be used.

According to that, using other media types with an appropriate adapter should work fine.
