2007 G35 owners: are you repeat G35 customers (owned a 1st gen) or new to the G35?
Hi, newbie chiming in here. Back when the first G35 coupe came out I was really interested in it but held off cause I was too poor.
Fast forward 4 years later, and I'm still poor, but now looking at the G35 sedan as the 07 looks great compared to previous generation.
My current car I have bit of a buyers remorse (at times) so I'm trying to avoid it with the next car.
One thing that worries me in my research of Infiniti is that its owner retention is very very low compared to other luxury brands...
Can anyone comment on why its so low?

Infiniti is ranked 8th from the bottom ... significantly below competitor
brands like BMW, Lexus, and MB. Its even lower than... Ford.
If I read it correctly, it says that 7 out of 10 people would not return to Infiniti.

Owner retention appears low because of lag in data
Hi,
I'd speculate that Infiniti's low owner retention rate is an artifact of them only recently getting their act together.
Prior to the 2003-2006 G35, Infinitis were either rebadged Nissans or were simply uncompetitive in the luxury/near-luxury segment. It is probably safe to say that the G35 and the FX35/45 put Infiniti well on the road to redemption.
Now, Nissan appears very committed to Infiniti and its success. The G is a wonderful car, the M is getting great reviews, and there are rumours of a kick-a** Q coming along.
It will take several more years for the numbers in JD Power to tell the whole story.

The reason Infiniti ranked low is because of problems witht the American-made model QX56 SUV. It is made at a relatively new plant in Canton, Mississippi and they had so many problems training those hicks how to make cars. Nissan had to send a group of engineers from Japan over to Mississippi to help them get their act together. Toyota was considering building a plant down that way and they changed their mind after they saw the problems Nissan was having in Mississippi, and now is looking at building their next plants in the midwest because of the higher quality workforce there.
I only buy vehicles which are actually made in Japan. Don't worry about the G35 Sedan- it's made in Nissan's top factory in Japan (Tochigi) and the new VQ35HR engine is made in a new state of the art factory in Japan.
I have an '04 Coupe (made in Japan) and it has been flawless so far. I'm not saying the G35 Sedan is going to be perfect, but it is a damn good car and I'd put it up against any equivalent-priced car from anywhere.
Buying new car to replace 04 volvo s-40. It's actually for the wife but I'm sure I'll park the truck once in awhile and drive the car. Just needed something bigger. After driving my superduty, packing myself into the volvo was just too tight.
I bought a 04 G Coupe (fully loaded) in Oct. 04, I just traded it in for a 07 G sedan Sport (fully loaded), hopefully I pick it up soon. I needed a change, its gonna be sad to see the Coupe go.
im a newb to nissan/infiniti
first car was a '01 toyota celica, and my family and i have been a toyota
loyalist for awhile now. the decision went down to either an '07 Lexus IS350
or '07 G..glad i picked the g35

I currently own a 2001 Honda Civic Si. I wanted to get a Lexus IS250 with Sport package initially but I changed my mind when I test drove the new G. I could get more power, better handling and more features/tech goodies than an IS for practically the same price. I'm glad I went for the G.
