Get the one that you feel most comfortable with and fits best into your daily life. I have also heard that the '08 coupe and sedan will have a 7-speed auto, that would be awesome.

Yes a 7-speed would definitely be awesome, but more gears is not the entire problem here - more related to how this AT changes gears especially in "sport" mode.

That's for sure!!
The 6AT in the 335 is definitely the benchmark to aim for.

Depends where you live, what kind of traffic you drive, is this your only car, a lot of factors to consider. I ordered a G35x(obviously an auto) and its my first AT car in my last 5 cars. A number of reasons led me to let go of driving a MT car, there are benefits to both, just depends what exactly you are looking and what you are willing to and not willing to live with.

Ultimately, the MT will be more rewarding car to drive, however, in traffic it will wear thin quickly, or going stop light to stop light in a city. I have suffered some bad ankle injuries a few years ago and in fear of needing surgery I wanted an auto so I could drive with one foot out of comission if the case became an isuue.

Ultimately transmission choice is very subjective. I have only owned 1 AT vehicle since the day I got my drivers license, but my G will be AT. There are two main reasons that I went with AT:
1) I live in calgary and value the awd platform of the x
2) I recently started working in an office downtown and my commute to and from the office can really crawl. I do more city driving these days than driving for sport.

If I was looking to purchase a new 911 Turbo there is no question it would be MT, but for my everyday driver I want AT. You need to decide which transmission will best suit the type of driving you do most, and you will not be disappointed. The AT can still be a lot of fun to drive

Wrong. DSG is what to aim for. They have all this technology put into this car and no dual-clutch auto? WTF?

Dual clutch = faster shifting, same-as-manual drivetrain loss, and very reliable (wet clutches).
