My dealer and I went through this on delivery. They didn't do it before hand because XM wants your name/address/phone/email and credit card number (for future billing). The voice automated thing didn't work for me so I got patched through to a human. She was ready to start charging me and I told her I had 3 free months. She asked for my promo code (which we don't have). I explained to her that it was free three months with the purchase as part of the car purchase and she cought on. I gave her the name of the dealership and the radio ID and she made it happen. After three months they charge the CC.

I was never asked for my CC info. In fact, it was my second day of ownership, and I did the activate over the car's phone using Bluetooth. So fun, so clear, and so easy. I later realized I didn't mention that I wanted the XM Traffic trial, too. I called in, got that figured out. Now, my car talks to me: "In 8 miles, congestion at I280." So neat! Not sure if it's worth the $10 stand-alone monthly fee (I don't plan to keep my XM radio).

The promo code is 956852 for Canadian customers. This will get you the 3 months free, but you have to provide your CC details for automatic rebilling. XMradio.ca has an offer for $50 off of subscription plan of 1 year or more (promo code HOHOHO6). The one year plan comes will come to CDN$114.89 or about CDN$9.57 per month for the first year. I think this is the way I'm going to go. Does anyone know of a better promotion from XM Canada?

When I called to activate the 3 free months, the person on the other end said the Traffic wasnt included. After I said it says on the sticker 3 months of both, he put me on hold for less then 30sec and came back it I had 3 free months of both.
BTW, I already had an XM account and already had an XM radio activated for my other car and they just added this one to it and after 3 months will just start charging me the family plan (which saves a few bucks for multiple radios)
