If you look at the high res photo below, the fit looks snug as a bug. Goofy, does your G have this gap?

geez, I think some of this stuff on "gaps" is getting a little out of hand. All this stuff does is draw attention to minor knitpicks. My coupe has some too but I don't focus on them and just enjoy the car.

The '07 sedan a nicely put together car and competitive in the class. Not perfect but also not $150K either. Drive it and enjoy it. My .02

Sedanman, yeah, that's the area I'm referring to but your car doesn't seem to have the "gap".

I'm not even sure I can refer to it as a gap, because it's not consistent across the whole piece. Mostly towards the center as if it didn't quite fit right, or wasn't put together well.
But it was so obviously out of place. You can't miss it, even if you're not looking for it.

I went to the honda dealership across the street after my visit to infiniti just for the heck of it. Still somewhat despise honda, but their interior fit and finish is undeniably very very good. I still find Acura as a luxury brand executes their interiors the best.

Here's an attached pic of the doors on the new 07 CRV. Here's a a very nice clean design with with no plastic lines showing as mentioned by the first poster.

Now I know, its getting nit picking. But the G is 31K and the CRV 20K.

These pics are not representative of the concern - the views are wrong. I'll see if I can take some pics; but I do agree however that some consider it nit-picking, I do not for this class. ****-*** assembly in a $40K is ridiculous IMO. Is it a deal-beaker; no, but it makes the car feel cheep for sure.

Also, has anyone seen the discoloration of the steering wheel leather compared to the color of the rest of the wheel - especially the black...? I noticed this before in some members’ pics, but I thought it was just the flash making it seem discolored. It's quite bad actually and I cannot figure out why this steering wheel leather does not match the rest of the wheel...?

I drove an '07 with the graphite interior, and the wheel matched fine, besides the rosewood in that pic looks too bright as well, IMO it is just the lighting in that pic.

Leather is supposed to match plastic?

My '05 along w/my other cars do not have this issue. Maybe they are buffing the leather for better feel which would cause a mismatch of color. Leather can certainly be die to match the surrounding hues no matter the composition of materials.

Leather is an organic material, and often times it will not come out exactly the color you are trying to achieve. IMO it draws attention to the fact that it is real leather and not some cheap vinyl made to look like leather.

The color of the steering wheel is a good match. I noticed when you use a flash to take a picture it washes the colors out.

Here is a picture of my wheel.

BTW - it looks like in these photos that someone has an Armor All fetish
If you look in the dealer brochure there is no gap. So something has changed since these early cars.

No, these are typical PhotoChopped pics and that's what aggravates me. This really amounts to nothing more than false advertising and misleads consumers that expect the same [or close to] assembly/look as the brochure indicates - but is not the case. That Pic of the door/dash assembly fits no-where-near the assembly that I've seen - one can actually fit your fingers in-between the panels while the door is closed. And as I mentioned before, the transition of the panels is way-off as well. I wish it looked like this

The mismatch of the leather steering wheel is non-existent in this photo also.

Nevertheless, this interior is way better than the old no doubt.
