Rear door trim fit and finish issue?

I finally went to the Infiniti dealer to check out the new G35's.

One thing I noticed in common with all 3 floor models inside the showroom was the door pull on both rear doors.
I can't really put it into words, but the plastic door pull that fits inside the armrest molding had a noticeable gap.
Sorry for the poor description and lack of pics.

Anyone know what I'm referring to?
When I saw it on the first model, I thought it was a fluke, but after seeing it on the 2nd and 3rd ones, I'm beginning to think this is a build quality issue.

The good news is interior materials are definitely a step up from the 1st gen G35, although I still did find the dash/console/door plastics to bit a bit harder/cheaper than I would've liked.
The matte wood finish was excellent, and the washi aluminum trim is much, much nicer than the cheap silver, painted plastic on other cars such as the IS and TL.
The seats on the sport are amazing. I like the inflatable bolsters that really make the seat hug me, as well as the adjustable thigh supports. The leather is very high quality as well.

Unfortunately, I will honestly have to say that the overall interior of my TSX is better executed, in both materials and finish (except for the painted plastic and leather).

I did not bother test driving because they did not have any 6MT models available and did not want to waste the car salesman's time. The dealership was quite packed at the time I went.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about, except this is the front door.

What the heck were they thinking when they designed the inside door handles? They remind me of the ones I have on my 14K Toyota Corolla

Funny this is my car door. Not sure about the gap but I'll try and get a picture of the rear door for you.

I know exactly what you're saying, because this is the only thing I criticized when I saw it at the auto show 2 weeks ago. I think that the design is wrong because one piece of plastic should go into a groove in the other peice. This way the fitting variation will be hidden under the groove. This is how it is executed on the Mazda 3 and 6 for example.

I also want to note that the 07 Sentra has a horrible door trim.

I would say the gap between the dashboard/door panel [when closed] is far worse than this. The gap is about 1/2" wide and does not transition properly between the Qashi panels [curves/angels] and looks very cheep.

BTW - it looks like in these photos that someone has an Armor All fetish

LoveCaulk should work just as well, but much harder to apply nonetheless.

Yeah I noticed that too but at the front door (the plastic trim transition right next to the hand "pocket"). And it's even worse with the white interior. That's the only thing that really caught my eyes. I think it's tolerance stackup and hope it only happens to a small number of cars (and they better fix it!)

I must have been cheated out of the rear seat armrest trim gap- none on my car with Stone interior. Maybe its the shine on black trim.

The dash-door trim gap on the other hand is very obvious with the washi trim and totally inexplicable to me on a car where everything else fits so well. I have found that if I grit my teeth and listen to the engine somehow it goes away...

I see the gap that you are talking about....just looking at the pic below of Sedanman's G (I hope you don't mind me using a pic of your car Sedanman). The pic from NissanNews doesn't have this same gap.
