A couple of 07 G35 XM Satellite questions?

Is it true that you need the Navi package to get XM Satellite radio? Does anybody know? Can it be purchased as a separate option?

Also, I think I read a review that said it's kind of cumbersome navigating through the XM channels using the controller and display? Anybody have any 'real world' experience? I have a portable XM Roady2 that has a remote and it's real simple and safer as you can navigate channels without really looking at the roady2 screen.

Thoughts?

If you get the Navi package, you get XM automatically. If you do not get the Navi package, you can order XM seperately.

Btw, it looks like it is a $300 option in the US.

Cool. I thought it was a separate option, but my dealer told me that I had to have Navi to have XM.

You can preset XM channels just like the radio. There are 3 presets A, B & C. Each preset controls the 6 selector buttons. I use A for FM and then use B & C for XM channels which gives me 12 preset channels so I don't have to scroll thru a couple of hundred of them.

This CNET review may be the one you read:
http://reviews.cnet.com/2007_Infinit...-32121865.html
My limited test-drive experience was that tuning non-preset XM channels was a lot easier than the CNET story indicates. I just twisted the controller dial (contrary to what the review says) and had no trouble finding the channels I wanted. Somebody who actually has a cаr with XM please chime in ...

Correct I just rotate the dial and it walks thru all the channels. It is really very easy to use. If you have voice just tell it what channel.
