Just to be clear, is this the seal on the sunroof in question or just the little accordian thing that Infiniti installed to hide the sunroom mechanism?

It's the trim piece that has nothing to do w/the operation and/or seal of the roof itself.

That's a bit of a relief, I'll admit I was a little worried by comments regarding the water proofing of the roof. With this in mind I think it's reasonable that Infiniti used an easily removed clip as a fail safe to avoid the accordian getting stuck in the sunroof.

I also had this problem upon delivery. We were about to take it into the service department for me to start kvetching at folks, but it was a two-second fix of snapping it right back in.

It makes me a little concerned about the PDI, but not significantly.

As far as seals go, however, has anyone else noticed a 30+ mph wind noise that sounds like there's a loose or missing seal in their rear door? I've done a visual inspection and haven't seen anything, but it's very different than the 60-80 mph wind noise you usually get. After I'm done with Infiniti/T-Mobile with my BT phone issue I might try tackling this one...

She said the truck should be delivering it to the dealership tomorrow or wednesday. She would then need a day to get PDI etc done. I should have it by thursday or Friday... Nice thing is the weather for the next few days till the weekend will be 8-13C and sunny... WhoooHooo!!!

Same thing on my sunroof came off. Also I get the wind noise at 30+ MPH that seems to be coming from the door...I'll mention this on my 1st oil change. I'm only at 1,200 miles.

Then today, the rubber seal on the back passenger door fell off, too. Again, I can click and fasten it back into place.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems? This seems really quite unacceptable. After all, I got an Infiniti and not a VW. Before this car, I had a 10 year-old Maxima with 160k miles on it, and never had things like this happen. This annoys me.
Mine came off on the sunroof, dealer fixed it (happened before I took the car), no problems since then. I figure it just wasn't clipped on all the way at the factory, no big.

I had two Maximas before this, both were also fun

Speaking of PDI

I noticed that the cluster in front of the sunroof (map light and sunlass holder) was very flimsy. I was concerned it was a poor design for a car of this class and checked another G where it was much better (still not solid, kind of a poor design IMO). I didn't want to wait another day to take delivery so I took it home yesterday and made an appointment to take it back in today to get looked at. On the way home I noticed the headliner above my head was shifting and making noise. Really irritating! So I reached up and it was also loose! I applied to perssure to try and stop the noise and I felt some sort of plastic tab pop into place and it felt more solid. I went around the perimter of the sunroof and popped into place nearly every other tab. Apparently the whole headliner was put in but nobody ever snapped it into place. To be honest it's not a big deal and I'm not surprised the PDI missed it. It's a minor issue, but a scary oversight. I hope the guy who was supposed to snap that into place wasn't the same guy who was supposed to put oil in it!

I'm taking a little field trip up to Infiniti of Nashua one of these weeks to do a ride with a service tech and have this wind noise diagnosed - I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Hey folks, I just bought a 07 G and was surprised by the wind noise. It sounded like it was coming from the sunroof area. Kinda disappointed by this but everything else makes up for it.

Hey G35string, congrats on the purchase and welcome. Have you checked this rubber seal to see if it has came loose like others have mentioned? Maybe that is causing the wind noise that you are hearing.

Add me to the list of rubber boot coming off the right hand side of the sunroof. If it wasn't for this forum I would be one pissed off Infiniti owner right now!

No, have it fixed properly. I know where you're coming from, I was like that with my Maxima. The back of the seat kept falling off, and after two visits under warranty I gave up. The back has been off for 8 years now. When I look back, I should have never let that go.
